A Visit from Benton County Naturalists
We are lucky to get occasional visits from Karen and Aaron, Benton County Naturalists.  Yesterday, they brought animal furs to share.  We learned about the animals, their habitats, and got to touch each fur!  Ask your child which one they liked the best!

Goal Setting Review
I've been meeting individually with students to review the goals they set for the end of the year.  Most goals involve reading levels, fluency, comprehension, math facts, and writing.  April will be a crucial month for reaching these goals, because in May kids starting winding down and lose focus!

We're completing our unit on Geometry and will soon be starting the next topic, Counting Coins.  Watch for the Geometry test to come home so you can see how your child has done.  Many of the standards we covered were not for mastery in second grade, just for exposure.  If your child doesn't know the value of each coin, it would help them if you could do some practice at home to remember the value and be able to count coins.
